Meet our Architectural Designer Cherif Farid
Originally from Cairo, Egypt, Cherif Farid was raised by a family of designers. Forging his own creative path, he moved to the states in 2012 to pursue a degree in architecture at Syracuse University. Drawn to ESKW/A’s mission of working on affordable housing and public projects, Cherif joined the firm in May 2024. His commitment to underserved communities began in his youth through charity work in very low-income neighborhoods in Cairo and continued with his thesis project examining the informal architecture collectively built by these communities.
For the seven years prior to joining ESKW/A, Cherif worked on large, sustainable, multi-family affordable housing developments in NYC, as well as various scale residential projects. He believes in the power of architecture to positively impact the built environment and improve people’s experiences and lives. In his downtime, Cherif enjoys outdoor activities such as playing soccer, spending time at the beach, and hiking.
