Andrew Presents at LISC’s “Faith-Based and Mission-Driven Housing Development: Best Practices” Webinar

Since 2022, ESKW/Architects has been proud to partner with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), supporting their mission-driven and faith-based clients as they navigate the opportunities and complexities of affordable housing development on their sites.

Beginning in 2023, Partner Andrew Knox, FAIA has worked closely with cohorts in LISC New York’s Land Opportunity Program (NYLOP), providing early-stage, pre-development support—from zoning and air rights analysis to test-fits, drawing reviews, and preliminary design studies. This work is rooted in a shared belief that faith-based and mission-driven organizations are uniquely positioned to lead equitable, community-centered development.

Tomorrow at 1:00 PM EST, Andrew will continue that conversation as a panelist in LISC’s national webinar: “Faith-Based and Mission-Driven Housing Development: Best Practices.”

The discussion will explore how faith institutions across the country are leveraging land, capital, and deep community trust to expand affordable housing. Featuring NYLOP as a case study, insights from LISC Bay Area’s initiatives, and findings from LISC’s new white paper, “Yes In God’s Backyard: How Faith-Based Organizations Are Reshaping the Affordable Housing Market,” the webinar highlights why LISC is such a comprehensive and invaluable resource for FBOs and MBOs navigating development for the first time (or the tenth!).
