Client Spotlight: Settlement Housing Fund

Our partnership with @settlementhousing goes back to the 1970s, when Harold and Judy Edelman joined forces to build affordable housing in the Two Bridges neighborhood—the first of many projects we’d complete together across fifty years. From the beginning, we have been driven by SHF’s mission: housing is a pathway to stability, education, employment, wellness, and belonging.

From the hundreds of affordable housing units in the Two Bridges area to the home ownership provided at Prospect Plaza Homes (with @monadnockconstruction ) to the award-winning and groundbreaking New Settlement Community Campus, our work with SHF has transformed communities. Along the way, there were also countless RFPs, studies, and small-scale renovation projects—each deepening our long-term relationship.

That foundation now supports two major projects currently under construction: Coney Landing and the Melrose Concourse cluster. Coney Landing, a 172-unit Passive House development in Brooklyn, will provide LGBTQ-affirming supportive and affordable housing. Melrose Concourse will create three new all-electric affordable buildings in the Bronx, serving older adults, families, and households transitioning out of shelter.

We are proud to reflect on our history and look forward to the future with SHF. Fifty years. One shared belief…and the humility to keep learning what it requires of us.

Thank you, @settlementhousing
