Baez Place Opens!
We’re proud to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Baez Place, our recently completed affordable and supportive housing development in the Claremont neighborhood of the Bronx. On March 11th, new resident Joseph Encarnación honored the building by cutting the ribbon, sharing that having a stable home gives him a sense of accomplishment and a path to building his future. Stories like his are exactly what this work is for.
This 8-story, 134,500 SF building delivers 154 affordable, supportive, and senior housing units for families, seniors, and formerly homeless individuals living with mental health challenges. From double-height atrium lounges and a rooftop greenhouse for horticultural therapy, to a teaching kitchen and outdoor terraces, every element was crafted to foster connection, well-being, and dignity.
Congratulations to the entire team, and welcome to all the new residents who will be calling this building home!
Baez Place is named in memory of Luis Baez, a Dominican immigrant and Bronx property owner who sold the land for this development before passing away.
