Baez Place. Bronx

Baez Place will provide affordable, supportive, and senior housing options featuring studio spaces and 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments. The apartments are split into two distinct wings. The building's lobby feeds into the support staff offices and computer room. The first floor offers a community space and a commercial kitchen. Softly furnished, multipurpose spaces with double-height ceilings and views of the landscaped backyard and open staircase are located on every other floor. The 7th-floor exercise room connects to an exterior terrace. The top floor features a greenhouse, living plant wall, hanging plants, and planting beds for year-round gardening. Outside, Baez Place has a sloped berm with an exterior stair, a sculpture courtyard, and a main rear yard with exposed rock and native greenery. The recessed brick details at the building’s base along with the vertical windows reflect the language of neighboring buildings.
