Meet Our Architectural Designer Alexandra Madsen

Originally from Chicago, Alexandra received her M. Arch degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she combined her love for drawing, art, sociology, urbanism, and environmentalism. She previously worked on affordable and supportive housing developments in the Windy City and joined ESKW/A in May of 2024. Alexandra strives to understand how thoughtfully designed urban housing and infrastructure can strengthen a city’s resilience. She is currently working on the Webster and Jamaica Avenue projects—two new permanently supportive housing developments in the Bronx and Queens for ACMH—as well as a new Opioid Treatment Program and Clinic on Wards Island for Odyssey House.

Passionate about collaborative and multidisciplinary design, Alexandra values input from diverse voices to meet the needs of the people and spaces impacted by her work. She is interested in learning more about accessible design, and how policy impacts the built environment through the roles and responsibilities of architects.
