Partner Kimberly Murphy Joins Board of Citizens Housing & Planning Council

Partner Kimberly Murphy, AIA, has joined the Board of the Citizens Housing & Planning Council (CHPC), where she will serve on the Zoning Committee to review and comment on new and existing zoning regulations.

“I’m honored to join an organization that has advanced practical, research-driven housing and planning policy in New York City for more than 85 years. Since its founding in 1937, CHPC has played a pivotal role in shaping housing and planning policy during periods of profound change. From the 1970s through the 1980s, as the city faced widespread disinvestment and worked to return abandoned housing to productive use, CHPC served as a vital resource in guiding the City’s response.

During that same period, ESKW/Architects’ housing work was deeply influenced by the preservationist movement and later evolved to include new, affordable and senior housing developments supported by emerging state and federal housing programs. Then, as now, our work has been grounded in the belief that, together, humane policy, community engagement, and thoughtful design can strengthen communities.

I look forward to contributing my perspective to CHPC’s ongoing work as New York continues to evolve and require new approaches to housing that are responsive to the diverse populations of NYC.” — Kimberly Murphy

Join Kimberly and ESKW/A at CHPC’s 66th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
