Mayor Mamdani’s Vision for Universal Childcare Includes Our Latest Project

Mayor Mamdani’s vision for universal childcare in NYC includes our latest completed project.

3K Center 523M at 403 E. 65th St. was announced as a cornerstone of the Mayor’s push to deliver accessible early childhood education across the five boroughs. ESKW/Architects worked with the NYC SCA to convert a century-old, three-story parking garage in Lenox Hill into a 30,000 SF school designed to delight the city’s youngest students. Every major system was replaced, and the interiors were reimagined with Alice in Wonderland-inspired colors and motifs. Classrooms each carry their own accent color, while the ground floor offers community space, a medical office, a warming pantry, and a large exercise room. When it opens this fall, the center will quadruple 3K capacity in the neighborhood.

This is exactly the kind of work we’re here to do.
